Ben Daniels is 13 years old and a student at Pleasant Ridge Middle School in Overland Park, Kansas. He is raising money for the environment, our forests, and wildlife with his unique pen and ink detailed drawings of nature and wildlife
with hidden words within the art.
For the last three summers he has attended the Coyote Trails School of Nature in Oregon and has acquired a great appreciation for the natural world. He wants to help people become more aware of the very real necessity to save the environment.
He is especially interested in saving trees.
In 2007 he won 1st place in the contest for the front cover of the Free Fall magazine with the drawing of a tree. The first show he displayed his artwork publicly was October 2007 at The Little Green Festival in Lawrence, Kansas. Since then his artwork has been in The Finishing Touch show in Overland Park, Kansas, The Holiday Mart, in Stilwell, Kansas, the Metropolitan Homes and Garden Show/ Green Zone, the Ward Parkway Art Show, and the Buttonwood art Gallery.
In 2008 his artwork entitled “We Are All Connected.” was chosen as a finalist in a national competition. His work will be displayed in Washington DC, will be on the website www.wildsalmon.org art gallery, and be in the 2009 Celebrate Wild Salmon Calendar.
